Settling In

We understand that leaving your child in our care for the first time can be a very difficult time, so we aim to work with you to ensure that both you and your child are happy and that settling in to the nursery is as stress free as possible.
Before commencement you will be asked to complete a child profile form and other necessary paperwork that enables us to understand your child?s needs and routines. We shall then arrange an induction meeting between yourself, and your child?s key worker before settling in starts. The aim of this meeting is to ascertain all relevant needs of the child and its family and enable us to be fully prepared for the arrival of the child on his/her commencement. We shall also discuss with you at this meeting settling in periods and a plan of action will be made that will gradually increase the child?s time with us at nursery before commencement date and will offer your child different experiences with ourselves before commencement.
We are aware that children are very different and will endeavour to listen to you at all times regarding your child?s settling in. We shall also offer advice and support where it is needed.
Parents are invited to attend settling in sessions with the child until they feel they are comfortable leaving the child in our care and are happy with the care that their child is receiving. Parents are also invited to use the nursery Staff room whilst their child is settling to enable them to be on site and therefore accessible if required.
We aim to slowly introduce the children to the key worker and the remaining staff and children at regular but short settling in periods that are gradually built up to incorporate all aspects of the nursery day. Until both the child, parents and staff are happy that the child is comfortable, secure and happy in our care
